We also clean, repair, and restore rugs, all done in house, in our modern indoor facility. This provides a very unique perk to all of our clients, the option for trading in their rug, at any time down the road for the highest value possible! As most of the pieces we sell are Vintage or Antique rugs, they have already had a long life, we can make sure they are cleaned and restored to the highest standard and find them a new home. So, if they no longer fit into your space, style or color palette, we are happy to exchange them for one that does. This is what sets us apart from rug dealers in general, our ability to offer you an option of trading your rug(s), not just for days after you receive them, but into perpetuity. It could be months or years from original purchase, regardless we will gladly accept any rug you purchase from us, at any time, and apply the value toward another rug that better fits your current space.

ARC doesn't just sell rugs, we also clean, repair and restore rugs as well, In House. All rugs sold from ARC are Vintage or Antique and inherently the conditions will vary. Things such as common wear, some discolorations or dye lot changes are considered normal and not defects. We ensure all rugs sold are in usable condition and all perimeters (binding and selvedge) are secure and functional for daily use. All rugs are professionally cleaned, repaired,and inspected in house by ARC prior to being sold. We are happy to provide additional photos of rugs and discuss their condition more fully upon request.
*(All rugs must be evaluated for condition prior to trade in and credit applied for use. Any cleaning/repair costs are the responsibility of the client. Remaining value from original purchase price will be applied as a store credit).
My Passion is Rugs
My name is Kevin Lawson and I have specialized in the antique, handmade & custom rug field for over 20 years, I am passionate about rugs, their history, materials, dyes and place of manufacture properly maintaining them for generations to come, preserving the artform.
Beginning my journey working at a rug showroom, cleaning rugs daily, then moving into sales and eventually into the repair and restoration divisions. Upon founding Agra Rug Cleaning & Repair Co. LLC. in 2006, I had acquired the skill set and knowledge required to continue this journey, working for myself and imparting this knowledge to the next generation of those who share my passion!
This was the culmination of my experience, study and passion for these unique pieces from Antique to vintage and into modern rugs that are all equal in their beauty and design importance based on the individual preference and how they will enjoy them for many years. As in most professions you are always learning and due to the plethora of weaving areas, types of knots used and designs that have evolved for thousands of years, it allows my knowledge and experience to expand year after year.
I was fortunate to work side by side with a master repairman from Iran who through his patience and his own passion helped inspire me to excel at this very niche and guarded trade. This skill set that I have continued to develop to encompass the identification of the materials, age, manufacture/province of which these pieces were created and how to handle each one individually from the cleaning and restoration to ensure their preservation for generations to come, to be enjoyed and admired for all that they are, a truly exquisite, functional artform.

I love talking and teaching (as well as learning) about rugs and carpets, I feel the best way to share this is through the visual medium as these pieces were designed to view and enjoy all the many elements that were used to create them. The mastery from construction of the loom, stringing of the weft & warp (structure of any handmade rug),selection and setting of dyes to the inception of the design to creating it knot by knot until it is a finished masterpiece.
